How Darius Walter, a busy Melbourne-based Technical Architect with a young family, lost significant weight, reversed years of fatigue, and changed his relationship with food — working with health coach Andre Obradovic.
Darius is a Technical Architect based in Melbourne, Australia. He lives with his wife and young children, and describes his lifestyle as extremely busy. Before working with health coach Andre Obradovic, Darius believed he was making reasonable health choices, following his own approach to nutrition and staying active, but was unable to shift his weight or sustain the energy levels his family demanded.
Darius arrived at his first session weighing 112 kg, frustrated and fatigued. He had been trying independently for two to three years to reach the same goals he would eventually achieve through the program. Despite believing he was eating reasonably during the day, he had developed an unconscious snacking habit that was undermining his progress without his awareness.
His primary complaints were persistent weight gain he couldn’t address on his own, chronic tiredness that affected the quality of time he could spend with his children, and a general lack of energy at night that impacted his relationship with his wife. His target weight was 95 kg — nearly 17 kg below where he started.
Critically, Darius came in thinking he already understood what needed to be done. He described his situation as knowing what to do, but not being able to do it.
Working with Andre Obradovic over 16 weeks, Darius focused primarily on dietary changes rather than structured exercise. Andre helped him identify hidden patterns in his eating, particularly evening snacking, that Darius had not recognised as a problem. The weekly accountability check-ins were central to his progress.
Andre also provided knowledge corrections alongside practical behavioural support, helping Darius close the gap between
what he knew intellectually and what he was actually doing in practice. The program incorporated light daily movement, including walking, but no formal gym routine. Darius also began intermittent fasting, including full fasting days on Wednesdays, which he introduced progressively as his habits became
more established.
Over 16 weeks, Darius dropped from 112 kg to 97.5 kg, a loss of 14.5 kg, achieved almost entirely through dietary change and walking. He had not yet reached his goal weight of 95 kg at the time of filming,
but noted he was close and fully intended to continue.
Beyond the scale, the results extended across multiple areas of his life. His energy levels improved substantially. He shifted from being a late-riser to waking at 5:30 am before work to complete morning exercise sessions, a behavioural change he attributed directly to the program. He reported sleeping better, being less exhausted in the evenings, and having more quality time available for his children and his wife.
His results also had a ripple effect: people around him, inspired by his visible transformation,
went on to make their own health changes.
Darius identified two factors that made the difference compared to his years of independent effort. The first was knowledge correction, Andre identified specific gaps in what Darius understood about his eating habits, particularly the compounding effect of snacking he had been dismissing as minor. The second was structured accountability. Darius had the motivation and the general understanding, but without a fixed weekly commitment to report back to a coach, that motivation hadn’t translated into sustained behaviour change.
He describes the shift as his knowledge finally being put into practice, not the acquisition of entirely new information, but the correction and application of what he already knew, guided by consistent external accountability.
